Angel Fire Small Animal Hospital also offers a boarding facility located at Dr. Gaffney's residence. There are maps available at the veterinary hospital indicating directions to VET PET RESORT. (also, see below for directions to kennel)
We have 9 runs for dogs, totally inside. The runs are 4' by 8' and there are large windows and a sliding glass door so that animals have plenty of sunshine and a "room with a view." That view, by the way, is of Angel Fire ski mountain and it's gorgeous! For cats we have an 8 cage unit kitty condo. Each "condo" has a resting bench. When we are not running at full capacity we will open a floor and a side door and allow one cat to occupy 4 cages. Also the back of the cages are clear, and the cages are up against a window so that the cats can see outside.

Dr. Gaffney walking dogs at boarding facility. | Dogs are walked and exercised two times a day for 10 to 15 minutes. Extra walks or "playtimes" can be purchased for $4.00 each. You can give us a special activity to do with your dog such as play ball or frisbee, go on a long hike, play in the play yard with a tetherball, etc. Cats can also have playtimes.
Boarding fees are $18.00 per night for dogs and $15.00 per night for cats. We do offer multiple pet discounts. Rates are charged by the night so whether you bring your pet at 9 a.m. or at 5 p.m. you will be charged for that night.
Check-in and Check-out times are 7 days a week between 7:30-10:00 a.m. and between 4:00-7:00 p.m. - BUT we need to note which time frame you will check-in/out on your reservation form.
We adhere strictly to these check-in/check-out times; services outside of these hours will be refused.
If you would like to make a reservation for your pet at our boarding facility, please call the office phone number: 575-377-3165 to schedule your pet's next "vacation"!
**WE REQUIRE:
A Visa or Master Card number to hold your reservation.
A non-refundable deposit of 1 nights stay.
Directions to the boarding facility:
From the blinking light intersection at Hwy 64 and Hwy 434 drive west on Hwy 64 about 1/2 a mile. Turn right, or north, into the Taos Pines entrance, this is a dirt road. There is a fire station at the entrance to Taos Pines. (if you are coming from Taos, the turn in to Taos Pines will be after you go around the last curve, where the Elliott Barker Trail is, coming down off of the Taos Pass)
Drive exactly 1.1 miles to the Gaffney's driveway entrance. There is a small wooden sign that says, "Cimarron Springs Goat Dairy" at the entrance of their driveway. The house has a green roof and the boarding facility has a red roof. Give yourself about 15-20 minutes to drive to the kennel from Angel Fire and we will request you to fill out some paperwork when you check your pet in. Depending on the time of year, the road could be muddy, slick and/or snow covered - so take your time. Park in-between the house and the boarding facility. Although the Gaffney's will watch for you to arrive at your scheduled time, please honk your horn if no one comes out to meet you.
Also - Please visit the "What's new?" part of this website for more information about the boarding facility. |
